Why Choose Park Colonial
Transformation of Bidadari Estate
Bidadari Estate – A Community in a Garden
Bidadari will be developed into a new public housing estate, with a distinct character and sense of history. Envisioned as a tranquil urban oasis, Bidadari Estate will build on the area’s rich heritage, cherished existing green spaces and multiple public transport links to create a garden living environment.
Envisioned as “A Community in a Garden”, Bidadari Estate will feature the centrally-located 10ha Bidadari Park, which will connect to a Central Green Spine. Bidadari Park will capitalise on the existing terrain, retain a cluster of mature trees, and accommodate a stormwater retention pond. Helping to mitigate flooding problems in the area, the retention pond harks back to the fondly remembered lake in the former Alkaff Gardens in the area. The existing Bidadari Memorial Garden will also be integrated within Bidadari Park. The Park will be connected to the wider residential estate through pockets of open spaces, with part of the tree-lined Upper Aljunied Road to be converted into a heritage walk for pedestrians.
Bidadari Estate will be pedestrian and cyclist friendly, with seamless connections between transport nodes, the park and commercial developments. To provide for the needs of new and existing residents, Bidadari Estate will feature a wide range of amenities including a new commercial development next to Woodleigh MRT station. A bus interchange, neighbourhood police centre and other community facilities will be located nearby. Other amenities such as places of worship and healthcare facilities are also being planned for the estate.

The Maris Stella Spirit Prevails
From its founding in 1958, where it was “a school without a home”, Maris Stella High School has flourished into a large, modern school constantly improving and renewing itself while keeping faith with the dream of its founder, Brother Joseph Chanel Soon.
The current school site expanded to cater to the learning needs of more students through the building of the Primary Section 1976. As one of the pioneer SAP schools since 1978, Maris Stella High School prides itself on providing a holistic and interesting programme for students to be culturally sensitive and effectively bilingual.
The hallmark of the Marist education is the dedication to holistic development and excellence as well as the effect enculturation of bilingual students who are ready for the 21st century.
The Cedar Girls Identity
The Way We Were
In 1957, Cedar Girls function as a school with an enrolment of 507 girls, 13 classes and a staff of 18. Pupils and teachers came from various quarters, and moulding them into a homogenous body posed a challenge to the first two principals.
Cedar Girls School certificate results were quite remarkable at that time. In 1957, out of the 79 girls who sat for the School Certificate Examination, 40 passed. The next year saw 44 out of 105 girls obtain the “O” level certificates. And 64 out of 146 passed the examination in 1958.
Today, Cedar Girls Secondary cultivates about 1 300 pupils and teaching staff of 80. The school went single session in 1992 and gained autonomous status in 1996. All classes are in the Express / Special Stream. We are also one of the top twenty secondary schools in Singapore.
We also excel in various extra-curricular activities, winning tournaments at national schools levels, especially in the National Inter-Schools Track and Field Championships where we are the reigning champions for the Girls B and C Divisions, for the sixth year running. The Choir, Drama and Dance Clubs were also winning gold medals and putting up creative public performances.
St Andrew’s Village
St Andrew’s Junior School | St Andrew’s Secondary School | St Andrew’s Junior College
Plans to return the St Andrew’s family of schools were mooted and with God’s grace. Renovation and expansion began as early as 2003. By 26 August 2006, the St Andrew’s Village was officially opened at the 1000-seater Cultural Centre located at the Junior College.
The village brings together the St Andrew’s Junior School, St Andrew’s Secondary School, St Andrew’s Junior College, as well as the (Anglican) Diocesan Office, the Ascension Kindergarten and three churches – the Chapel of the Resurrection, Chapel of the Holy Spirit and Church of Ascension.
Facilities at the Village includes an Olympic size swimming pool, a 1,000-seat performing arts centre, air-conditioned school halls, gymnasiums, indoor basketball court, roof-top basketball court, tennis courts, cafe, rockwall, astro-turf artificial field and a sheltered bridge across the Kallang River to connect the Junior and Secondary Schools to the Junior College across the river.
In 2010, piling work began for the construction of St Andrew’s Hall, a 12-storey hostel with sufficient rooms to accommodate up to 600 students with facilities including a dining room for 600 people, an adjoining multipurpose hall as well as a clinic to serve the residents of the hall and St Andrew’s Village.
